Hello World

My name is Alberto Tolentino and I have been a Graphic Designer for the past ten years. I am currently taking the New Media Production and Design Diploma at SAIT Polytechnic to improve my knowledge in this area. These days I am getting in to Photography by exploring new techniques. My favorite is HDR, so I have decided to make a tutorial about it so I can share it with my classmates and colleagues around the world.

What is HDR?

Many times I have been in beautiful places and thought, “This is a beautiful place, and I’m going to take a picture!” Back home checking out my pictures I thought, “This is not how I remember it looking”. The human eye is amazing. It can see about eleven stops of light and a camera only captures three stops (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-number). This means that in order to capture what you see with your eyes you have to take multiple shots with different shutter speeds.

HDR stand for High Dynamic Range and is a method of combining image data from multiple digital exposures to create one amazing photo. There are too many ways and techniques to accomplish this. In this tutorial I will focus on doing it with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
